Playa Migjorn is a small resort that offers great views, beaches and peace and tranqulity. It is about 5 km from Mahon on the opposite side of Mahon (Maó) harbour. Playa Migjorn is one of the more exclusive calas in Menorca, and the holiday villas reflect this. The entire area is laced with winding lanes lined with elegant villas and holiday homes, many of which have swimming pools. From here there are great panoramic views over Illa del Rei and Illa Qarantena, two of the islands in Mahon Harbour.
Playa Migjorn is a very popular holiday spot for sailing, the marina is large and the surrounding coastline is varied. The road from Mahon to Playa Migjorn passes the Estacop Naval base and then Golden Farm before arriving at the cala. Golden Farm is a large British colonial house that may have been the headquarters of Admiral Nelson. The road from Cala Llonga continues another 3.5km to La Mola fortress and Fortalesa Isabell II.
The only bar in Playa Migjornis Sa Mesquida Bar, but Mahon is only about 8 minutes drive away, and offers a variety of clubs and bars. All in all the small resort has peace tranquillity in an idealic setting.
