Puerto Soller and the inland town of Soller are situated on the West coast of Mallorca and dominated by the Sierra Tramontana mountain range and the highest mountain in Mallroca Puig Mayor. In the past to get to Puerto Soller would take hours and even further back ,days, but since the opening of the 3 km long tunnel from Palma, journey times have been slashed, Times before the tunnel Puerto Soller was left isolated and today it keeps its charm and charcter from the past. There is a slight French influence here, as in the past many locals emigrated to the south of france and many have come back and left their mark especially with the culinary delights in the many restaurants.
For the many people that have travelled to Soller in the past they will remember possibly visiting the resort by train from Palma, on the vintage electric railway. The Railway commonly know as the orange blossom express is one of the greatest railway journeys in the world, and not to be missed as it winds its way through the mountains to Palma and back again to Soller.
Puerto Soller is set in a bay and is secluded making the beaches pretty impressive and safe for swimming and especially for the Kids.
