Porto Colom is located on the southern coast of Majorca, Porto Colom is a small fishing village that has built up over the years around the bay and original fishing village. Now the village has developed in to a quaint resort that still has its roots in fishing, many restaurants have sprung up around the sea-front and some of them offer fresh seas food dishes. There are but a handful of hotels available some of them have amazing seas views but all of them offer something for all tastes and budgets The appearance of the village remains much the same as it had 100 years ago. Porto Colom isn't clogged up with noisy bars and nightclubs, and would make a good choice for guests whom are seeking a relaxing time. Porto Colom is better suited to older or more discerning visitors seeking to enjoy the 'real' Mallorca rather than the atmosphere of the larger Mallorca resorts. Hiring a car to explore nearby Mallorca is a good idea, especially if it means getting out to enjoy the real Mallorca. Note the beaches are all also worth checking out also.
