The Resort of Illetas is situated on the south west coast of Mallorca and lies 6 miles west of Palma City.
It is an exclusive resort, with some very affordable nice hotels and apartments complexes, one of the most famous hotels is the Bon Sol as was one of the first hotels built in the 1950s along the coast, its pretty exclusive now and retains like the resort a little old charm. The sandy beach of Illetas is small and can often get busy at the height of summer. The water here is fantastically clear and beautifully warm making swimming a luxury. Illetas is very different to Palma Nova and Magaluf as it is full of culture and is very peaceful and scenic. The holiday season in Illetas begins in April and ends in late October. But some of the main hotels are open all year round as the climate is still a lot warmer than the British Isles.
There are bars in Illetas although most of the evening entertainment is provided by the hotels. Restaurants are also dotted around the resort and offer all types of cuisine. There is one club available in Illetas which is very exclusive and stays open until 2 am. Public transport within the resort is very good and buses come every 20 minutes. Buses take you into Palma de Mallorca and Paguera. Illetas has few shops in the town itself. All in all one of the quieter resorts that tends to ooze little more charm and sophistication.
