Formentor or Cap de Formentor is Mallorca’s most northern point and is a peninsular at the very end of the Sierra Tramontana mountain range. It is a beautiful place where the cliffs surge out of the sea and on a clear day you can see the Island of Menorca.
The road leading to Formentor is a windy one that comes via Port de Pollensa (Pollenca) leading to Formentor you will not help but notice the little beach of Cala Figeuera one of the most in accessible beaches on the Island but can only be reached on foot. Its an excellent beach and cala try out some diving as some of the best on the Island.
It’s a protected area for birds and attracts many bird watchers Formentor is famous for its breeding colony of Eleonora'a Falcons which nest in the cliffs, as well as its Rock Doves, Blue Rock Thrushes, Northern Ravens and Pallid Swifts. Black Kites and Western Honey-Buzzards also fly overhead. Away from the sky, you may see wild goats and lizards among the rocks and scrub, and dolphins out at sea.
