The hotel, which was renovated in 2008, is situated in a 15th century convent, among gardens and fountains which recall a past in which Arabian and Christian influences merged. The convent was built on the orders of the Catholic Monarchs on top of a Nazrid Palace, of which important remains are still conserved, such as the Nazrid Hall.
