The Catalonia Ramblas hotel is the former residence of the La Vanguardia newspaper and was designed by Josep Majó Ribas. Established in 2003, the hotel is well suited to both holidaymakers and business guests. On offer are a total of 221 rooms, of which five are disability-friendly. The air-conditioned building includes a lobby area with a reception desk manned around the clock, lift access, a bar, an Internet connection via WLAN, nine connected bright rooms for various events, room and laundry services, and a parking garage for those arriving by car. The Catalonia Ramblas hotel is located in the historic centre of Barcelona, in the near vicinity of the Plaza Catalunya and the famous Las Ramblas. The unique location means that guests have access to a rich cultural and business scene as well as nearby public transport links. It is possible to visit the Gothic District, Gaudí's Ruta Modernista, and the famous Sagrada Familia, or go shopping on the Paseo de Gracia. The nearest underground station (Universidad) lies approximately 300 m away, the Casa Batilo, beach, and sea are 1 km away, it is around 1.5 km to La Pedrera, 5 km to Sants railway station, and some 15 km to the international airport.
