I lived there for a year and have some good memories of the place, the accommodation is basic so don't go there expecting 5 star service or being treated like royalty for a week or 2 this is not what Zante is about.
Zante is known for the ship wreaked picture that everyone seems to show in all the brochures and on the websites, you have to go on a boat trip to see it which departs from Zante Town. Is it worth seeing well I thought it was a bit of an anti climax but would be good if you like seeing ship wrecks washed up on a beach.
Zante is mainly made up of self catering accommodation there are plenty of bars and restaurants about, it is hard to find a good traditional Greek Restaurant but the full English breakfast and Sunday Roast they have mastered.

The beaches are very good and there are plenty of water sports on offer. The Island is not that big if you hire a car for the day you can do the lot.
